Red White and Basil

When renovating a home, the contractor must meet the needs and expectations of the homeowner. This is no small responsibility. When renovating a restaurant, however, the contractor must meet not only the needs and expectations of the owner, but also of the hundreds (if not thousands) of that restaurant’s customers. High quality design and workmanship will have a positive influence on diners’ experiences and a corresponding effect on things like social media and word of mouth.

Our team took an awkward, cluttered, tiny space devoted to a coffee shop and turned it into a polished, warm and inviting restaurant featuring our skilled carpentry. We used repurposed 100-year-old pine woodwork for the rustic tables and bar, streamlined benches and paneling. For a bit of whimsy, steel pipes were used for table frames and shelving; and vintage- style Edison light bulbs were hung from thick red wire. The finished concrete floor adds a subtle modern/industrial touch. This project is a great example of how a small number of key elements can re-invigorate a space for maximum impact.
